The Calico Cat is a small fabric & quilting supply shop located near the shores of

Chautauqua Lake in Lakewood, NY.  The shop was established in 1981 and stocks

a variety of notions, sewing machine parts, books, patterns, and of course, fabrics. 

In addition, we are an authorized Bernina location, offering Bernina sewing

machines, Bernina parts and accessories, classes and maintenance services. 

We offer a variety of quilting & sewing classes in our classroom, taught by a number

of talented local teachers sharing their skills, expertise, wisdom & humor.

In January, 2006, we moved from the original shop to our new location, at 4451 West

Fairmount Avenue in Lakewood.  We actually only moved 4/10 of a mile west of

the old shop, into a small sandstone house.  We have a beautiful knotty pine classroom,

plenty of space for our inventory, a much improved parking lot & a handicapped

accessible entrance. 

PLEASE NOTE OUR NEW HOURS, EFFECTIVE 6/1/09:  We will be closed on Sundays & Mondays.  Tuesday - Friday we will be open 10AM-5PM, Saturday we will be open 10AM-4PM.

We are now selling homemade candy, locally made by our Amish friend Emma.  There are a number of varieties of candy that can be shipped anywhere in the United States.  Varieties available include cream filled chocolates in the following flavors:  Maple, Maple Nut, Vanilla, Coconut, Coconut Almond, Peanut Butter, Peppermint, Cherry, Orange,  Raspberry, & Assorted.  We also sell white, milk & dark chocolate covered pretzels & Oreo cookies, Peanut Butter Bars (graham crackers & peanut butter dipped in your choice of chocolate), Drumsticks (pretzels dipped in caramel & walnuts & covered in chocolate), the following varieties of Fudge in either regular or goat milk:  chocolate marshmallow, chocolate, chocolate nut, vanilla, peanut butter, maple nut & cookies and cream.  Emma's specialty & my biggest seller is her Cashew Crunch - buttery toffee with cashews, dipped in chocolate or just by itself - I can't keep this in stock!  All varieties of candy are $5.95 per 8 oz., and are made in Emma's own health department inspected kitchen. 

WE MAKE CUSTOM MADE T-SHIRT QUILTS!  CAPTURE THOSE SPECIAL MEMORIES FOR THE GRADUATE, SPORTS FAN, OR OTHER LOVED ONE.  WE WILL SPECIALLY DESIGN A T-SHIRT QUILT TO FIT YOUR NEEDS.
